Yummy Vegan Banana Bread

I got this vegan bread recipe from my vegan Twitter friend, Katie, last night and by luck I just happened to have 3 ripe bananas on hand to whip up a loaf this morning.  I know I sound like a home fragrance saleswoman, but my favorite part about baking treats like this is the way it makes my home smell totally delicious.  Thanks, Katie!

Vegan Bread Recipes


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter
  • 2 tablespoons apple sauce
  • 3 bananas, very ripe
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Mix ingredients until smooth and pour into greased loaf pan.  Bake for 40-50 minutes or until it passes the clean toothpick test. Enjoy!

    hi keri,

    how do you mix the ingredients? do you need a beater or something? i want to try this but i haven’t baked anything ever..so, this is kind of new to me…

    Hi Debbie- You could use a mixer if you wanted to get it extra smooth, but I just mixed mine by hand. If your bananas are good and ripe it should blend well! Hope this helps! Good luck! 🙂
