Oh, The Trees I Ate: September 2010

October 1, 2010 by Keri

Admittedly, my favorites this month were not the healthiest things I made, but they were all delicious!  I probably spent a little less time in the kitchen this month as I got used to my new “day job” babysitting, but I’m finding myself quickly recovering my kitchen gusto.  While last month’s Oh, The Trees I Ate had quite a few photos with unreleased recipes, this month I’m happy to report all but three have a recipe or book source to find the recipe.  And those three have entirely visible ingredients, making them easy to replicate.  Just have a clicksy on the image if you want to know more about any photo’s recipe!  So without further ado, I present to you my photo montage of all my best September eats.

  1. Oh my goodness, you had a very good September! The food, and photos, are fabulous!

  2. Wow, those look amazing! I’ve wanted to try a few recipes from hearty vegan (last months deep-dish pizza anyone?) but the only bookstore within miles (borders) doesn’t have it. Grrr. I may have to order it.’

Thanks for the awesome post keri!

That’s the one that isn’t quite out yet. Hearty Vegan comes out next year, but I highly recommend it when it is available!! (I’m sure I’ll do a post then, also.) 🙂

  3. Wow, a month of amazing eats! Everything looks so good! Are those tater tots on the irish nachos?? I want to try that pumpkin ice cream! That would be a perfect fall treat 🙂

  4. im definitely bookmarking a few of these for later!! MY OHHH MY what a wonderful month September must have been for your tastebuds <3

*drools* there are so many tasty looking dishes here I think my tastebuds have died and gone to heaven I’m getting hungry looking at these (which is wrong seeing as it’s nearly 3am for me) I so want to try the pumpkin ice cream and the snickerdoodles cookie *yum* I also want to try the Seitan Pot Pie From The Chicago Diner Cookbook I’ve heard alot about Seitan (or Satan as someone once called it) this last week and now need to find a way of getting ahold of it in the UK.

    • Keri says:

Homemade seitan is the best! If you can get your hands on vital wheat gluten flour, seitan can be yours!! 🙂

  6. Wow, you had a tasty month!! I just got the Vegan Cookies book from the library and am having a hard time deciding what to make. Those Samoas look good – I’m a sucker for coconut!

  7. Quinoa Diet says:

These recipes are truly amazing. I love quinoa and I really like your Chipotle Yams And Zucchini With Quinoa recipe. I’ll definitely give it a go.
    Thanks for sharing:)
