Bandwagon? Where?! Plus Vegan Cookies And Pizza
Oh, at Starbucks? I’m there. I don’t even like chilled coffee drinks, so why did I find myself at a Starbucks ordering a frappuccino? Because I can! You’ve most likely read about Starbucks changing their frappuccinos to allow for a soy base if requested, and I couldn’t pretend I wasn’t a little excited. I ordered a soy coffee frappuccio and upon taking a sip, I couldn’t believe how much I liked it. It’s delicious! I’m glad to have an occasional vegan frozen treat option when I’m near a Starbucks.
Since my mom left me a $10 off Kohl’s certificate that expired before she would be back, my grandma and I went to Kohl’s to look around. I ended up with a nice little cotton summer dress, so I’m glad my mom passed the coupon along. Following the Kohl’s trip, my grandpa came over for lunch, bringing my son and I veggie subs from Subway. When I was little, my grandpa and I had garage sale adventures every Friday, and we’d talk and sing in the car the whole time, so it was really nice to get to have a lunch date with time for conversation. We talked all about my blog and he said he’d check it out (Hi Grandpa!).
This evening, my uncle, aunt, and cousin came over again to play. Tonight they brought pizza from Papa John’s, including the vegetarian with no cheese pizza for my son and I. My uncle said he liked the veg one even better than their own cheesy pie!
Since I didn’t have to cook tonight (or today at all!) I ran to the store this afternoon to pick up a bag of vegan chocolate chips to make chocolate chip cookies for everyone. I especially wanted to make them for my uncle, because they’re his favorite cookie. As an egg replacer I used the fabulous “flax egg”, and they were really good even though I may have left them in a little too long. I lost track of time while dancing with little man. I’m telling you, that two year old has moves! My uncle also frequently reads my blog, and I think my aunt too (so Hi Uncle Mike and Aunt Mindy!).
I had a pretty commercial day as far as eating goes, but it’s worth the good company of family and I’m definitely grateful for them. I’m pretty sure my mom’s cat, Bailey, is also pretty grateful I’m here, because he rarely acknowledges my existence and since I’ve been here he’s been acting completely lovey. The poor guy must have been lonely!
I also wanted to make a mention of a couple of blog posts by other bloggers featuring my recipes. What can I say? I get excited when other blogs mention I Eat Trees! Eat A Vegan made a really delicious looking loaf of Sun-Dried Tomato Herb Bread. And Aimee the Vegan made her own tasty take on Eggplant Parmigiana. Well, Bailey is getting impatient with my blogging. I hope you had a great day!
