A Vegan With A Bread Machine: “Cheddar” Herb Bread
Since I have a big bag of Daiya cheddar shreds living in my freezer, I’ve been thinking of countless ways to use them. I was curious how these shreds would work in a bread, hoping it would give the loaf that “cheesy” flavor. The result is a super delicious, moist bread. It isn’t cheesy like you might think, but has a wonderful flavor and texture. You could even add a bit more cheddar if you so desired!

Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup unbleached bread flour
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 tablespoons brown rice syrup
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup vegan cheddar shreds
- 2 teaspoon dry yeast
Add ingredients in the above order. Set bread machine to basic, 1.5 lb. loaf, normal. Enjoy!

Totally jealous and wishing I had a bread machine!
You could probably work it the old fashioned way by just letting it rise, kneading, letting it rise, and baking in the oven.
Making this now!
I’ll let you know how it turns out with the Daiya
Yay! Can’t wait to hear about it!
